But, bespoke window shutters will last for many years and are therefore a more cost-effective investment with many more benefits.
Yes, they will keep your home warmer than blinds because the louvres close up the way rather than down. So, if your radiator is below your window you will have the added benefit of rising heat being thrown back into the room.
Anyone with Venetian blinds will tell you how awkward they are to keep clean however, shutters are very easy to clean because they are not free-hanging. As they are hinged you can hold them still and dust them or clean any marks off with a damp cloth.
